In this project for the Qatar National Library (QNL), I led the development of several interactive digital experiences for the exhibition Goaaal! “How Football Kicked off in Qatar.” These interactives provided an engaging and educational way for visitors to explore the history of football in Qatar, using high-performance touch-screen applications built in Unity.
🛠️ Featured Interactive Experiences:
The Audio-Visual Timeline
A comprehensive 2D timeline documenting key milestones in Qatari football history. Visitors could interact with dates to reveal archived photos, narrative text, and audio clips, bringing historical moments to life.
Digital Scrapbook
A virtual scrapbook experience that mimicked a physical album. Users could "flip" through pages to see scanned newspaper clippings, early team photos, and personal stories from the pioneers of the sport.
The Video Jukebox
A multimedia station featuring a curated collection of historical match highlights and interviews. I developed the interface and video management system to ensure smooth, high-definition playback for visitors.
Interactive Interviews
This experience featured video-driven narratives of former players and coaches. These interviews provided a unique form of interactivity, where users could engage with prominent football figures in an almost personalized manner.
🧠 Key Interactive Features:
Multi-Touch Navigation
All experiences featured multi-touch capabilities, allowing for natural interactions like zooming, rotating, and selecting multiple elements simultaneously.
Bilingual Support
The interfaces were fully bilingual, allowing visitors to switch seamlessly between Arabic and English. I ensured all interactive elements and narrative text were properly localized for a diverse audience.
Real-Time Feedback
Designed to offer immediate visual and audio confirmation for every user action, ensuring the digital environment felt responsive and intuitive.
